Peek inside a home in Dallas’ gated Glen Abbey with a top designer’s interior touches

If a home’s interior design creates a lasting first impression, why not hire one of the world’s top designers?

This home on the market in Dallas’ prestigious Glen Abbey neighborhood was designed by Jan Showers, who was recently recognized by Architectural Digest as one of the top designers on the planet.

The four-bedroom, four-bathroom and four-half-bathroom home built in 2007 has two primary suites, two kitchens and sits on a double lot next to a creek in the gated community. Its Santa Barbara appearance is accented with modern details.

Listing agent Dona Timm called the home “immaculate.”

“No detail was overlooked, from the high-end appliances and luxury amenities to the graceful and seamless connection of the interior through the gorgeous exterior spaces,” she said in a statement.

At 8,189 square feet, the home is spacious with numerous rooms for entertaining. Just past the entrance, a large dining room sits to the left and has space for 20 guests. To the right of the entrance, there’s a living room with uniquely designed bookshelves and a fireplace.

The main living room is just a few steps past the entryway and is two levels tall, with a statement staircase off to one side. The living room is bathed in natural light due to multiple large windows, and it is set up to have two separate seating areas. A hallway on the second level looks over the living room.

The kitchen has built-in cabinets, two countertop islands (one with seating) and two sinks. There’s an entire room on the first floor devoted to china storage, with built-in cabinets that showcase the stored items through glass windows. A breakfast room off of the kitchen looks onto the patio, and there’s also a secondary kitchen on the first floor.

A downstairs bedroom suite has a sitting area and an en suite bathroom with a large bathtub, dual sinks, a vanity area and a shower.

One of the suites upstairs has its own sitting room between the bedroom and en suite bathroom. A third bedroom with an en suite bathroom is on the second floor.

One of the upstairs rooms is designated as an exercise room and has a wet bar inside. There’s a game room with space for both a pool table and table tennis.

Outside, the pool has a water feature and an attached spa. The outdoor living areas are abundant, some covered and some open to the sunlight. The 1.26-acre property is expansive, with additional green space and garden areas behind and beside the home.

25 Glen Abbey Drive is listed for $5,895,000 by Dona Timm of Coldwell Banker Realty.
